Dream Time

After the excitement of Xmas and the New Year i tend to need a bit of  quiet time, well lots of quiet time.

Sunday morning was the perfect time to put on the trainers and head out, the night before we had a lovely fall of rain and the morning was cool with a fresh breeze.

I wasn't alone i saw 3 different families of kangaroos and a pair of eagles.

At the highest point of my walk you can see Mt Franklin, once a volcano and now a popular spot for campers.

I walked along dreaming of the coming year and the possibilities of my own personal development, what could do this year to be a better friend, wife, mother, sister, daughter ?
Each year i try to learn something new, what could i enrol in this year ?

I'm not making any New Year resolutions, what happens will happen.

A beautiful patch of Wallaby grass, native to this area.

One thing i would like to do this year is collect the seed from local native plants and grasses and see if i can grow any to re-vegetate areas on our property.

Do you have hopes or dreams for the New Year ?

  1. Christmas is such a busy time so it's nice to have that quiet time back to yourself and a walk in that beautiful bush would do the trick. I enjoy the company of my relatives and friends but I value my space and just being with my girls and hubby. My hopes and dreams would be for my girls to have a great year at school, my hubby to have a good year at work and hopefully not get too stressed and for me to turn some of my crafting into a little business. As long as we are all happy that's the most important in the end really. I hope that 2012 is a great year for you. :)

  2. Collecting local plant seeds would be a great thing to do. Nothing like a peaceful walk to sort things out. I don't usually go in for new year resolutions... But I do tend to make resolutions constantly throughout the year. And I break quite a few of them. Sigh.

  4. Have a little more time off work is an intention of mine, Andrea. Last year was quite tough with the amount of hard graft and the lack of holidays.

(Is it my age - probably - but I struggle a little to read the lime on white, sorry).

    1. Time off (and not working in your own garden/home)sounds good, always hard finding the right balance.
I'll have a play around with colors, thanks for the tip.

  5. Your walk sounds lovely and calming. More time for reflecting and to practice mindfulness is my goal this year, similar to yours :) Revegetating your property with native grasses sounds like a great idea!

  6. I'm a bit of the what happens, happens mindset too.....besides I find that I resolve things best as they arise rather than at a pre-determined time & place (ie New Year). Thus i resolve to not resolve or rather to resolve when I feel the need.
