  1. My cos lettuces all went to seed in the last week sadly but we are still picking from the lower leaves for now. I do love going out and grabbing a few leaves whenever you need for a salad or a sandwich and so much cheaper than organic lettuce in the shops too. Lucky you have a handy mushroom expert next door, you definitely don't want to die yet. :)

  2. Were the mushies OK? They look a lot like ones we used to pick as kids and sell on the side of the road. In retrospect i'm amazed anyone bought them but they usually sold well.

    1. You were very enterprising..... yes they were good old fashioned field mushrooms.

  3. Oh, how I wish I had chickens! No way, though, because we don't have anybody to care for them when we're away and we travel once or twice a year.

Well, that and the dogs. One would think they were friendly toys and the other would think they were good practice when she can't stalk squirrels.

What was the verdict on the mushrooms?

  4. beautiful harvests! I just wish mushrooms grew here; way too dry. But I've begun some pearl oysters on coffee grounds, waiting to see how well they do!
