Harvest Monday

Over the last week i have harvested the following usual veggies from the plot........................

Parsley by the hand full.

A few spring onions.

Assorted lettuce leaves.

A Couple of bunches of Pak Choi

Sprigs of rosemary and coriander leaves.

The girls have also layed 14 eggs.

and with all this produce I made the following....................

Soup (two pots) , Quiche, sausage rolls and salads.

Banana bread and scrambled eggs (twice)

I pulled the first of my Beetroots................and we both enjoyed it for
                                         BREAKFAST

There was also celery, apple and carrot in the juice.

And to my surprise while weeding the veggie plot i found....................

                     10 days from Winter................very unusual !!!

I'm joining in with Daphne  who hosts Harvest Monday, where many gardener's from around the globe share what they have been harvesting , preserving or cooking........................

  1. Hey Andrea, nice to still be getting fresh produce from your garden and cooking up a storm with it......

14 eggs, I'm jealous....I've only got 3 chooks, but not one of them is laying, grrr...... shall have to tell them about your girls!

Love the colour of the beetroot juice, never tried it but, sounds good.

    1. I have 1 old chook who keeps the 4 younger ones in line and then i have 2 which are in their 2nd year and they are the ones that are laying, usually 2 a day.

  2. Sounds like you're a busy lady Andrea! Strawberries in the garden still! I'm very impressed (read jealous).

I'm only harvesting herbs and greens from my garden - thyme, oregano, rosemary and rocket. Not much but tasty enough!

    1. Phoebe it was more than a fluke than any work on my behalf for that strawberry, its the mild weather we have been enjoying.
Iv'e never had this much growing at this time of year in my garden before but have been following vegplottings 52 week challenge and trying hard to keep up successive plantings.....

  3. That looks like a nice and healthy juice to start the day off, pretty colour too.

Wow 14 eggs is a great effort from your girls. I'm lucky to get an egg every couple of days so I do have to buy eggs occasionally but they have an excuse they are getting a bit old.

Not a lot of harvesting happening here this week but I have been doing some planting and there is lots in there now so I'm hoping they all grow well so we will have lots to eat and not as much to buy.:)

    1. I have been enjoying using the fresh eggs they taste so good but wondering when the girls are going to go on strike over winter. Hopefully i can entice them with warm mash and some left over porridge.
